yet another cake joins my portfolio. This is a super fun little cake painting, this time focusing on the sprinkles on top. I might do some more of these in the future as I come across more delicious cakes to paint. Thanks for watching. If you enjoy my painting timelapse videos, consider buying me a coffee as a thank you through my Ko-Fi profile. They don't charge fees so I get the whole tip, and I can use it for exhibition entry fees, supplies, new equipment, and of course: coffee! And here's a photo of the finished work so you can see all the details.

Happy to report that I have finished the process timelapse video for my most recent painting, "The Dancers." I'm hoping to turn this concept into a series that consists of at least 3 different paintings. To provide a clearer explanation of why I chose to paint this work and its significance, I included a quick artist statement below. This painting's composition was inspired by the pattern that vaginal discharge formed on underwear during the course of a day. By taking this accidental composition, making it larger, and emphasizing the visceral through use of color and mark making, this work asks how the reproductive health processes of uteruses and vaginas are made taboo and invisible in a wider context and culture. And another picture of the painting so you can really see what's going on.
Thank you for watching and reading! I'll be posting another process video and more art to look at soon. Quick timelapse video of how I sketched out the painting of my mom and baby Jane! Inspired by an old family photo. I painted this piece to apply to a show, but it didn't get in. And I'm honestly okay with that, because I really do love this painting. Oil on 20 by 24 inch stretched canvas. Music by my good, talented friend David. You can connect with his band here. If you enjoy my videos, consider buying me a coffee on Ko-Fi! |
