"Icarus" is an oil painting on canvas based on the old Greek myth of Icarus and his father. They attempted to escape imprisonment with wings made of wax and feathers, but Icarus flew too close to the sun. This caused his wings to melt and he drowned in the sea while his father survived.

While the sun—which could represent any human hubris—gives us life, it can also damage us if we get carried away.
