This unique oil painting is another portrait where the composition was borrowed from a vintage public domain historical reference. My favorite parts are the fabric folds and how the skin tones play off of each other.
The muted green in the background pushes the orange, pink, and yellow skin tones forward. The model has piercing blue eyes that stare out at her audience.

Painting historical portraits where the identity of the original subject is a mystery is one of my favorite types of portraits to paint. Overall, "Historical Portrait No. 2" is a great way to bring in a vintage style to any space but still maintain a contemporary vibe.
