Happy to report that I have finished the process timelapse video for my most recent painting, "The Dancers." I'm hoping to turn this concept into a series that consists of at least 3 different paintings. To provide a clearer explanation of why I chose to paint this work and its significance, I included a quick artist statement below. This painting's composition was inspired by the pattern that vaginal discharge formed on underwear during the course of a day. By taking this accidental composition, making it larger, and emphasizing the visceral through use of color and mark making, this work asks how the reproductive health processes of uteruses and vaginas are made taboo and invisible in a wider context and culture. And another picture of the painting so you can really see what's going on.
